Alhonna's Bass Tournaments
Twice a year, Alhonna Resort is host to an “open buddy bass” tournament. The Early Bird Tournament, held usually the last weekend in March, offers a great way to start a new fishing season at Lake of the Ozarks and often occurs during the bass’s natural spawning period. Seven and eight pound fish are not uncommon in this early spring tournament. The Fall Classic, normally held in October, gives anglers the chance to enjoy brilliant autumn colors and fantastic fall fishing at our great Lake. Both tournaments include a separate Big Bass pot. Payback of tournament fees is 100%
Take off is scheduled at 7:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Weigh-ins are at 4:00 PM on Saturday and 2:00 PM on Sunday. The cash prizes are given out following the weigh-in on Sunday. Guest rooms are available at Alhonna Resort. Accommodations include motel and kitchenette units for 2 to 12 people. Some units have fireplaces. All rooms include one covered, electrified boat slip and ramp fees for the first boat. Additional boats are $10.00 per night. Ramp, overnight slip and trailer parking fees are not included for tournament participants not staying at Alhonna.
Bobbers Restaurant at Alhonna offers a complimentary pre-take off breakfast and coffee starting at 6:00AM on Saturday and Sunday morning. Alhonna also offers the following amenities…indoor heated pool, 2 hot tubs, full service gas dock, boat rentals, bait, ice and fishing license.

Here are the results from the 2013 Spring Tournament - and we use the term "spring" loosely! With a very large winter storm predicted to move into north and central Missouri areas Saturday into Sunday, the decision was made to shorten the tournament to Saturday only. The temps were spring-like with little wind and highs in the 40's. A little more than half of the teams weighed fish with only 6 teams of 58 catching limits. It was a tough day with the big front moving in! Thanks to all our fishermen for being flexible with us. Congratulations to the winners and we hope to see all our teams back for the Fall Classic Tournament on the last weekend in October.
Great fishing guys AND gals! See you in the Fall!
